Just got new system set up but i'm not happy with the cheap ram supplied and want to get the best out of my system.
Have problem that will not boot without resetting the cmos!
Motherboard asus maximus extreme with q6600 processor and 500gb hd with 8800gtx gpu.
If anyone could help that would be most appriciated.
I enjoy playing high res games such as crysis and would like some help on overclocking my machine safely...........thanks, ross

Does the board have any DDR2 slots?

I don't think the cost vs performance gain of DDR3 vs DDR2 justifies going to DDR3 yet!

It is the current board and only has ddr3 slots.

OCZ have some very good ddr3 on the market from what i have read but it seems hard to get hold of.

in that board you really want some ddr3 that will hit 1800/2000 so your looking at arounf £250/300 for 4gb.

if you want some help with your oc ask in the other threads :)
