Hello,

Received and installed my new Intel Core 2 Duo E46000 2.40ghz on my AsRock ConRoeXFire-eSATA2 (http://www.asrock.com/mb/cpu.asp?Model=ConRoeXFire-eSATA2&s=) motherboard, switched it on but nothing happens. Power and fans are going etc but nothing is on the screen and no speaker beeps (my comp doesn't beep at all anyway, not even when switching it on).

But you know what..looking over the support list again I think I may have picked an unsupported one.

From list:
775 Core 2 Duo E4600 2.4GHz 800MHz 2MB

Isn't that the same?

I'll have to put my previous P4 CPU back in. I don't really know what to do now?

OK bizarrely it's now working.

I took the heatsink/fan off and removed the new CPU, put my previous back in leaving the heatsink/fan off, quickly gave it a test. Then for the hell of I popped the new back and it worked. So I cleaned ,reapplied thermal paste and put the heatsink/fan back on. Done.

It's not like the CPU was out of place of anything cause it's a bit hard to do so on a socket 775. :)
