Okay, my new system consists of:
ASUS P5K3 Deluxe WiF iP35 DDR3 Motherboard (http://forums.aria.co.uk/Products?search=MB7-ASUS-P5K3D)
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 2.5GHz (Retail 775) (http://forums.aria.co.uk/Products?search=CPUBX80580Q9300)
2 x Patriot 2GB PC3-10666 Viper Extreme Performance (2x1GB) (http://forums.aria.co.uk/Products?search=MEM-II800-PVS32G1333)
2 x Asus Extreme 8800GTX 768MB PCI-E (http://forums.aria.co.uk/Products?search=GCX-ASU-8800GTX)
2 x 500GB Seagate Barracuda SATA2 HD's
Tagan 700W Modular BZ Piperock Series (http://forums.aria.co.uk/Products?search=pow-TG700-BZ) PSU
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64 OEM (http://forums.aria.co.uk/Products?search=SOF-66I-00788)
Gigabyte 3D Aurora 570 (http://forums.aria.co.uk/Products?search=CSE-GZ-FA1CA-***) case.
I installed the PSU/Mobo/CPU/RAM, one of the 8800GTX's, the HD's and got a successful boot and proceeded to install Windows from the DVD.
It failed to install to the HD’s, as they had not been formatted so I used the RAID software to set them up as RAID 0 (I got to that by pressing ctrl+I on booting if I remember correctly).
On rebooting, the system will now not even go as far as the POST screen.
I've taken everything back to just the CPU, 1 strip of RAM (tried all the slots) and 1 graphics card (tried both) but the system refuses to do anything other than fire up the fans and the case/PSU lights.
I've also tried this on cardboard to rule out case shorting, I've reset the CMOS loads of times, swapped the CMOS battery, reseated the CPU and fan (which all looks okay and snug), sworn, even gone to work and tried to forget about it, but nothing I try now gets even as far as the POST screen.
I can get a series of beeps if I remove all RAM; there is no audio if I remove the CPU and a continual beep if the graphics card is not powered. Other than that, no clues as to what’s occurring at all.
Any advice that will avert an RMA will be gratefully recieved!
Thanks in advance.
Mark
