Services from:
10Mbit/s to 100/1000Mbit/s depending on your area.
Prices for 10Mb start from stupid amounts and go up to very stupid amounts with a totally ridiculous installation fee.
I mean, it's a little bit expensive but it's all yours and it's stupidly fast
I'm sure Pullen will be interested in the 1000Mbit/s service.
I mean, it's a little bit expensive
understatement of the decade!
yeah if you were millionaire it's about affordable
I'm sure Pullen will be interested in the 1000Mbit/s service.
and then access his router wirelessly using a 802.11G PCI wireless card.

You pay for an overcrowded Virgin Media network.
This is for businesses that need that speed 24/7.
Virgin don't give you 50Mb upload either.

Yeah right lol

£3k for 2Mbit/s.
Next.
Not too bad if you're considering your own hosting company... not sure how it compares to co-lo or virtual servers though.
100Meg upstream would be nice ;)
I could do you a leased line for less than this!!
We recently had a 2mb WiMax connection installed in our office - £600 install and £200 per month. Ping is about 5 seconds :)

Bah, can't get the 1000Mb/s in my area :(. And I'm not afraid to say that would be way out of my priceline .
"100 Mbit/s 100 Mbit/s Fibre 4km 2073 25787"
lmao, i'll just get vm's 100mbit for £45 per month lol.
so £2073 connection charge and £25787 annual amount. i'll leave it.

thats nots FTTP though, its only to the green box ;)
but @Toonshorty i get my full speed all day on VM (give or take a MB), personally all these people that say they are over subscribed that are not using VM is a bit silly tbh.

I was judging my opinion from other posts on this forum saying they were.
Wish Virgin Media would put cable where I live.
Last resort at the minute is TalkTalk saying my exchange is a possibility for LLU. They've listed it as targeted, but no dates for this to start.

Correct I do and thats when its being used as well. For what it is, basically wifi on steroids, its pretty darn good and everything is so so so so so so so much more responsive than the 16mbps/1.6mbps Annex M connection we were previously using.
We did look at an underground leased line but the cheapest we found was almost twice the price.

Yeah I know.. Thats why there was a  at the end :)

you will not get your full speed the same way you would get MB on a leased line.
you will get speed net speeds of MB but your under traffic shaping and load management all over the place, the state of the UK network is unbelievable :(
Nothing really new here, this is just a leased line install, businesses have been using them for decades, since long before home broadband existed.
And yeah it's a different quality of service to broadband with no contention etc, it's a completely dedicated connection into an ISP with a peering arrangement. When I had just left university I lived in a house in croydon with a bunch of other geeks. One of them worked for the (now defunct) Xara networks, and got a deal on a private leased line which the household used... that was pretty sweet, especially considering that back then most people were still using modems and ISDN ;).
100 Mbit/s100 Mbit/s Fibre17km207336169
That scares me.
