Not too sure if this is the right place or even if it allowed!!! but here goes.

I am sure most of you users agree this is a great offer and after recieving my offer email I ordered some, but when I arrived at the payment page I realised that it was going to cost me a tenner for P&P while I understand the deal is good at 49.99 for 4gb of fast pc800 memory its not that good once you get the P&P and dreaded VAT on top in fact it turns out its 67 quid which is ok but not stunning.
anyway my gripe is why is P&P so much on such a light and inexpensive item, Royal Mail Special Delivery which is next day and insured up to £250 and only costs a fiver and this is less if it delivered by CityLink in a letter packet so why do customers pay such high postal rates on such light items.

I presume it has something to do with the value of the item. Generally retailers will provide Royal Mail Second/First Class without signature or Citylink/Amtrak or similar. I recently bought 2GB Patriot PC2-6400 Extreme for £29.32 and was given the option for Royal Mail. For a kit that's worth nearly £50 I'd imagine they wouldn't want to send it out on Royal Mail First/Second. I don't think any retailers do RMSD because it'd only be useful on certain circumstances below a certain package mass and dimension. Could be wrong though.

That being said, maybe the OCZ's packaging it quite hefty and can't fit in a standard envelope packet?

Hi
I must admit I never thought of the packaging being large, well I ordered it anyway and I will let peeps know the size of the packing, it just seems so strange to charge 10 quid for a PC case or Large monitor ect and 10 quid for two sticks of RAM as they are obviously worlds apart in terms of size and wheight, it reminds me of the inflated prices they charge on Fleabay to make up the price of the item.

Where ar you located as £10 does seem steep, more often than not even city link only costs me £7 del from Aria.

Hi Mac124
I live near York and to be fair I used to go to the competition at Reebok Stadium in Manchester and it used to cost me about 10 quid in fuel to go there and back and pick up my items, admittedly it would be more like 12 now with the price hike on diesal but I still think that 7 is on the steep side from CityLink.
I have wrote to Aria about the P&P and will see what the explanation is, I have also just been on the website and it would cost 7 quid + VAT just to order one stick of RAM that only costs 7 Quid something not right or fair here concerning P&P charges.
