One of them i would recommend. XP professional is very simple to setup.

But Windows Server 2003 would offer a hell of alot more features. But the cost of a license is :o SHOCKING!!!

I have a single user licence for all the disks appart from, 2003 Enterprise where its licenced to 4 machines. I have also used 2003 at college for a week, But..I can always try them all..

win server 2003 (enterprise edition i use) is very good :)

Just make sure you keep it up to date and when you do update it never let it do the \"express\" always check what its doing... or you could end up letting it tweak something u might not want it too - and end up spending 3 days trying to find out what the aria went wrong :)

(experience)

also 2003 is very quick loading / shutting down and if you know how to use active directory its even better :) (users and passes for different people who want to log on- or a special \"guest\" account for anyone else using you machine ;) )

Nice edge using 2003 i find.

And yes mines legit before anyone asks the questions, i won a comp on M$ ages ago (enter email thingy doodle) and i won :D they let me pick 1 peice of software so i went for the most expensive i could think of

The people that are moaning Keechin are the ones that can't afford an Alienware. Green eyes mate.

Cant see anyone moaning tbh.

When you post the specs of your computer in a thread your going to expect feedback.

We have offered feedback and views on his system.

can't afford an Alienware

About half the population then :P

And agreed- the idea of putting your spec is feedback - and thats whats been given.

Alienware are good pc's though they are over priced, you could build something of a similar spec yourself for less. If you cant be bother to build yourself a pc or just can't build one then they are an ideal compromise. Personally i'd rather self build.

Hehe, gotta love the time machine :)

What can we buy today...5 years later for £4K :)

 Holy thread res... but the most surprising thing about that spec is that it's still not actually that bad tbh :)

Funny thing is I'd be very hard pushed to spec a system for 4k these days... 2k is more than enough for a top-of-the-range, and anything over that is simply overkill :D

Can't wait to look back on this thread in another 5 years :thumb:

When you buy a Alienware your paying like a 40% premium just for the name.

I didn't check the date when I read what he got for £4,000!!!!!!!

Got 8 babies now somehow! Think I puked them out!

Going through the other old threads, I didn't realise how many people have almost 1,000 posts and have just disappeared into thin air! Shame! Last online 2008!

Haha, the main thing that stuck out for me was the PPU. Haven't seen one of them in a while.
