Ok so ive had the Gladiator i3 540 bundle for about a month now. It comes pre overclocked to 4.2. When i first got it i was annoyed that the CPU fan was so loud but i didnt want to think about changing it as obviously this bundle is supplied with warranty and i didnt want to go messing about with it. I havnt used it for much gaming until today and i thought i would boot up CoreTemp to see how hot it was running. I was shocked to see that it was idling over 65 and had peaked at 95 degrees celcius. Now im know the JTMax for these is 105c but it surely cant be reasonable to run it at 95c whilst gaming?

Does anyone else have this system and have some comparable temps?

Do you think Aria have made a mistake putting it together and forgotten the thermal paste?

Needless to say I have loaded the defaults in the bios and left it at that until i can contact Tech Suppport with Aria on monday but i thought i would post here for any suggestions.

Something is wrong there, Try reseating the heatsink

All round to yours then for the bacon and eggs cooking on the heatsink ;-). I think a fair few people have i3's around here...should chip in soon!

You've done the right thing loading defaults and posting on here for advice :thumb:

What case are you using? Do you have any case fans? Any idea what the system temp / case temp is as this will directly affect the cpu idle temp :)

Ive got an NZXT Vulcan with two top mounted 120mm fans and another on the front. Ambient temp is about 20c and the case temp is about 28-30c so not very hot at all.

I havnt tried reseating the cooler as im concerned about the warranty. Perhaps being over cautious but im patient enough to get some feedback from Aria first i think. Now its at default it idles at about 25, exactly the same as the case temp and runs at 50-54c under maximum load.

Ill repost in the customer care section.
