Bonjour All

Trying to redesign a company logo at the moment.

This is the old one:

Any this is the new one:

I'm really terrible at using the software to design these as you can probably tell.
Can anyone tell me what the logo represents?

Do you prefer the old one or new one?

Looks like sonys vaio logo....

haha, thought I had seen it somewhere, might have to change that then :P

EDIT: Changed!

Thinking the \/\/ need to be at a steeper angle and shorter?

Yeah, it does look similar.
I like how the VAIO logo shows the transition from analogue (VA - wavy lines) to digital (1 and 0).

Yours reminds me of the Loch Ness monster...
Looks decent :)

It sort of says 'Volkswagen' to me, although it could be something to do with outdoor activities (mountaineering / climbing)...??

original reminds me of Day of the Tentacle :D

Definately looks more of a W than 2 V's to me

2 letters there, anyone get it?

Yeah it is AW, second thoughts I think it's pretty crap. Don't suppose someone wants to come up with a new logo using those 2 colours?

I think it looks good. Relevant for where it is, like the volkswagen equivalent.

I wouldn't give up on your idea.

The original is dire.

Sadly, this sort of thing is best done by professionals, who can be expensive.

I'll have a go later (I'm out in a mo) if you want to pm me a couple more details on the company that I could use?

Anyone else think it could do with a thicker line and rounded corners? Gives it a slick, modern look...

upside down Motorola !

sshhhh!!!

i thought that as i did it, but was trying to stick close to the old one but a bit more modern. it would need to be done better than my 5 second paint go but it gives you an idea.

The one I made a couple of days ago for him, changed the company name (obviously :p) as I'm sure there's a reason he hasn't mentioned it yet:

Thats the one I'm liking, although I may use marsey's just how it is in paint. See what my boss thinks :P

To me, that looks medical related, like the line on a heart rate monitor...

Oh yeah... Didn't think of that!

It's obvious now you mention it :)

The color scheme perhaps enhance the "medical-ness"

Bombalur

but judging the nature of the company the logo is for, I dont think a medical type logo could be quite appropriate.

Don't envy you on this, creating a logo is one of the hardest things to do. I've done it in the past and just had a huge PNG file open creating loads of variations off the top of my head using the required colour scheme and wording. Then showed it to the customer and asked them to pick a starting point which is adjusted from their. Best to make it feel as if it is their choice really
