Well i will describe my problem about the NAS box which we had at work.
One it was an easy aspire easystore around (£400).
Everything was working fine when we got the Nas box until after a couple of months it just suddenly stopped working, all of the lights across 3 drives did not lit and the computer which had this attached to it couldnt find it and neither could any other computer (because O/S could not be loaded).
We tried all sorts to try and get it running again.
1. a reset on the nas box
2. reconnecting the drives back into the bays
and basically thats all you could do from our point of view because it was an enclosed unit.
So we rang the so called "technician support line" and i have never had to listen to so much commotion before it is unbelievable. We sent the Nas box back and on the report they gave it said and i can quote it " Replaced Mainboard, all tests passed working OK"
So we powered it up and get blue lights on the drive! i thought ok however the red light on the Information symbol was still flashing red indicating a problem. Tried searching for the device over the network using the connector software and still couldnt find the device "saying cannot find your homeserver" so we tried again on resetting the device and powering off and all that stuff and no matter what we did it could not connect to the homeserver (we even uninstalled the connector software and reinstalled the software back onto the computer after a restart).
So we rang them up again and we explained to them obviously we wanted to say other things to them but it wouldn't be legal to say in the matter but we asked them for a refund on the product and they said they cant until "there" technicians have had a look and we mentioned well your technicians did have a look and they couldn't fix it even though they said they did so they took it back and 6 weeks later it returned "AGAIN 2nd time" and we got it back and looked the report form again and it mentioned that another main board has been replaced and backplate board (or something like that i forget the name they mentioned) and we though ok so we powered it back on and the lights appeared to like up the hard drive, power light and I light all blue for about 5 mins and then the I went red again and all three hard drive went from blue to pink.
Still tried using the connector software to detect but did not prevail so currently now ACER have still got our NAS box and it has been about 5 weeks now and we have heard nothing!
*Word of advice do not buy this product from Acer as it is an absolute nightmare and the customer support is just absolutely ridiculous!
