View Full Version : Warranties..
I know Aria offers 1 year's warranty..but are there any independent online firms out there who offer, for a price ofcourse, extended warranty on top of that? I would presume proof of a new system would have to be shown etc?
I guess you could approach your insurer and see if they'll cover it?
I know it's been mentioned before that Aria were looking in to extended warranties, but AFAIK nothing has come of this yet. Doesn't mean the idea has been shelved though...
if you buy the parts it self, its then warranted by the company e.g you buy a nivida gfx card its warranty lasts as long as the state, sometimes its a couple of years..

as martyn said your components should have a warranty for a couple of years, i think graphics cards and mobos are usually about 3 years with manufacturer but depends on brand.
Trying to avoid starting a new topic, what if you (for example) overclock your processor, this eliminated the warranty correct?
What about other components?

There's no black and white answer to that. Basically a manufacturer will normally not honour a warranty if they think you have damaged it by running it outside of it's safe operating parameters. But how they determine that this is the case is a difficult question, and it becomes a bit of a grey area when motherboard and GPU manufacturers for example offer 'overclocking' editions of their products.
But I think it's sensible to be aware that if you are overclocking you are at least AT RISK of voiding your warranty.
Ok thanks for clearing that up.
i thought the 12 month was for the system as a whole but do the componants not have extened warrenties as solo items?
none of the stuff in these builds are cheapo parts and most are from the big firms who have 2 and 3 years on them.

I would think so..I wonder what one gets when one buys or has a system built by Aria? I guess one wouldn't get all the component boxes but registration cards/ userguides/wires etc..are they sent with the built system?
When I've ordered pre built systems from Aria, I've received pretty much everything with them thats gone into the system.. Including empty ram boxes, back plates, warranty cards etc etc.. Not sure if that was a unique case though!
Hmmm.... Yeah I would kinda like the boxes when I order my system....
