hi good folks, i recently bought the gladiator i3 540 pre oc bundle, all seemed fine @ first but i installed call of duty black ops, this is where my problems started, the pc kept freezing then crashed ie blue screen!!!! but this only happened on this game after turning settings down on the game and other attempts (different psu using just 1 hd removing creative sound card using on board graphix and everything else i can think of nothing makes a diiference, the system is getting worse and worse it now will only stay on for 20 mins if im lucky!!! the blue screen giving me many reasons for the crash ie memory, video and anything else it can give, the only thing i can think of is that its got a problem with bios or the motherboard is faulty can somebody help pls

erm might wana run memtest and disable the OC to rule out bad memory and
the OC itself

I would do the memtest first with the OC enabled leave it run for an hour
if it has no errors disable the OC then try and see how it is they should have saved the profile so you can re-enable it

yes ive done all that done memory test (full) ok tested the graphix card ok never had a power problem b4 even tried it with 600w psu no difference, took oc off (put to fail safe default) still the same only thing ive not tried is looking at the cpu/cooler if it is fitted proper but looks fine (rather have aria do that as they build it they should examin it)

http://www.aria.co.uk/Support/Returns+Info

with it only starting after you installed blops it makes me think its soft not hardware related. i would try everything you can before sending it back because if its tested as fine it will be at your expense.

have you used system restore to roll your os back to before you installed it?

after that i would look at the hdd, starting with the cable and then drive itself. reason being i know how much testing the oc builds get before shipping and also the random bsod codes.

if its not that then its the board :|

hi m8 not rolled back but its had a few formats it was only when playing black ops that the first crash happened so after i reinstalled many times still same prob, i could play for hrs b4 another crash sometimes 15 mins all temps very low etc, i have tried different hd's 6 different cables, bigger psu, tested every component i have still no errors with them tried using different os's x86 and x64 moved the pc to different plug sockets etc, like ive said b4 all other components worked fine in my core 2 duo e8400 i used b4 i got this bundle in, that also puzzled me tbh i never noticed any improvement from my old system ie e8400 4 gig ddr2 800 no oc so 3.0 ghz - this i3 @4.2ghz ddr3 1333mhz i thought things should be moving a bit quicker and that maybe im wrong im not sure

Added after 7 minutes:

ps im not a fan of msi mb's as i had 1 once and it somehow managed to frash itself 1day and corrupted the bios and i promiced myself id never get another lol

sounds like you have covered everything there tbh :|

e8400 is a fast chip anyway so outside of benchmarking tests im not sure you would see a leap in performance day to day, thats why im still using a q9550 based system to tell you the truth but i dont do much with it other than gaming. almost everything else i use my pc for i can do on my phone if that gives you an idea of how taxing that is xD

the link in my last post will take you to the shop to request a rma number.

do i still need to do the rma or can i just take my pc to them as i would rather do that and explain the full happening and watch them see wot happens after 10 or 15 mins it will crash? tbh i dont want to keep trying anything else with the pc as its been getting worse and im expecting its problem to completely die next :(
