Interesting comparison

Hi all,

I know that Aquamark isnt widely used these days but I've just compared my dads computer to mine and got a bit of a surprise.

My dad built his pc around an E6750 and 8800GT 512 around a Gigabyte P35-DS3R and it cost him around £700 (with monitor) at Christmas.

I built my computer around an E2140 and 7950 GX2 on a MSI P35-Neo2. Cost around £220 (without monitor) this month.

In Aquamark he scores 150k. Mine is only 10k behind at 140k. Hows that for a budget system?

Yeah I know my 7950 is a generation behind but I'm more than happy!

Are both CPU's at their respective stock speeds?

edit- Just saw sig, E2140's at 3.0GHz. Sounds about right. Really, the only difference between the two chips is the Pentium's got 1mb L2 and the Core 2 Duo's got 4mb L2. It's been proven that the difference in L2 cache makes a tiny difference in reality so all in all your E2140 should be faster than a stock E6750 most of the time. Very good score in my opinion.

What are the individual scores, gfx and core?

I think my processor is only about 50 points behind, and my graphics is 4-5k behind. Going from memory though.
