need a recovery program that will recover the files from a memory card that is used for my mums, camera as I corrupted it by pulling it out of the sd card slot on my computer. any suggestions?

recuva. Made by the same guys as ccleaner. It is windows only though AFAIK.

Just don't recover to the card you're recovering from.
PC Inspector Smart recovery is designed for cards.
File recovery is worth looking at as well.

+1 for recouva used it quite a few times, pretty good

tried recuva and it say that its 'unable to read boot sector', any suggestions or is it completely fubar?
also I keep getting run time error '339' when I install inspector smart and try and run it, dl'ed from both cnet and some other site so no idea what is wrong with that
it can be a bit hit and miss with flash based drives
some are hard formatted and won't allow certain things to happen like partition.
Make note of what drive the thing shows up as.
try command prompt
enter drive id e.g. f:\
and try fdisk /mbr on it

Recovering from flash drives is a right PITA to be quite honest. I formatted mine and then realised I'd not removed files from it, got a few of them back, but for the most part, lots loads of pics. :(

well ive given up, most of the photos are backed up on my sisters computer so at least we have most of them. however when I go to format it in windows it says thatw 'Windows was unable to complete the format.' straight away. is it fubar'd?
