Hi

Please take the time to read this as it may turn out be something really simple.

I have rebuilt my PC and have 2 SATA HDs (C:\ and D:\) and 1 IDE HD (E:\)
I have installed Windows Vista onto the C:\ drive.

Now I used to have Windows XP on the IDE drive which WAS the original C:\ drive.
I didnt have time to install everything on to Vista all at once so to be able to continue using my PC I left XP on the IDE drive.

So When I wanted to continue installing stuff onto Vista, I basically just jigged the cables about and made alteration in the BIOS so Vista would boot and visa-versa if I needed XP.

I noticed when doing this that which ever OS was actually in operation - the PC always renamed it as C:\.

Now I am completely up and running on Vista. The IDE is connected and will be Formatted soon.

I used 'Admin Tools\Computer Management\Disk Management' to rename the HDs and put them in some logical order as it was a mis-match with CD drives and USBs etc.

So 1 SATA with OS is C:\.
2nd SATA for downloads etc is D:\ and my IDE is now E:\.

So far so good.

I came to install a program from a CD and I keep getting an 'ERROR 1327: Invalid Drive F:\'
Looking at the Help files on disk it mentioned about the ISScript. This may or may not be the problem. But I know if I rename the D:\ to F:\ then stuff loads. I really want to keep it as D:\ so can anyone offer any help and reasons why this happens.

Thanks

Simon

Hi
I've sorted the problem now.
Couple of modifications to the registry and all OK.

Thanks.
