Hi

First Off, This is the PC I baught
Thermaltake Soprano - Black, Window Side Panel
Thermaltake TR2 RX W0136 500W Modular PSU
Asus P5K Premium Wi-Fi Intel P35 LGA 775
Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66GHz (Retail 775)
Patriot 2GB PC2-6400 C4 Extreme Performance (2x1GB)
nVidia GeForce 8600GT 512MB DDR2 PCI-E
320GB Hitachi Deskstar SATA2 16MB
HP dvd1060i 20x DVDRW/RAM Black SATA
Freecom DVB-T USB Stick

I recently baught a Asus P5K Premium WiFi/AP for my PC. I thaught it would be a great for my new PC and had read good reviews. So when I got it I was rather happy :). I encountered a problem though. I installed the motherboard with my computer and booted up. It loaded post and then said "Unkown CPU, please update BIOS". Because I did not have a floppy drive I continued through and attempted to install Windows Vista. When Vista files had loaded and it came up with the agreement I could not move the mouse so I used the keyboard. At the partition section my SATA Hard Drive was not detected and started wandering why it wasnt and why my SATA DVD/RW so I tried installing Vista on to my 120GB IDE Hard Drive. The computer had detected it but came up with a error saying it would not install.

I am sent the motherboard bact to Aria and they said there was no fault with it. And at the moment it is in Aria's warehouse

I am now very confused on how to update my BIOS

Please help Aria Team and Forum Members

You need a 65nm chip such as an e2160, e4500, e6660 etc... or buy a floppy?

You might also be able to flash the BIOS with a memory stick

EDIT : Click here for you're newest BIOS http://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/P5K_Premium/P5KP0504.zip

and http://www.student.livjm.ac.uk/cmpsgoos/usb_bootdrive_guide.htm Follow that guide if you have a usb memory stick

Thanks for the reply

But I don't know how to flash it with a memory stick...
I Could buy a floppy but I had a look for the drivers on Asus and for some reason they are bigger then 1.44MB

Any Ideas?

EDIT: Ty, You helped me a lot :D (Added to your rep)

EDIT: The drivers are 2MB, they don't fit on a floppy :(

Cool, so if I put BIOS on a 128MB stick from this PC, then put it into the other it should update?

I will follow the guide you gave me, thanks
