Kubuntu login goes to black screen

Okay guys bit of a problem, i love KDE4 but the problem is Kubuntu seems to turn into a black screen after login where nothing is responsive.

Can anyone tell me what might be the issue here?

Can you get to a console by hitting ALT+F2 for example? If so it's probably an issue with your xorg.conf setup not working with your GFX card/monitor.

Found the issue anyway - i had my /home on a separate partition which used gnome and all the old config files where messing with it.
