Good stuff, if you have the money and need the fastest single card solution. I found the power consumption during load between the GX2 and 3870X2 interesting, too.

I wish all the sites would have compared more cards, IE single 8800Gt, 9600Gt and SLi 9600GT and 8800GT.
Anadtech's review shows that a pair of 9600GTs could be a very good buy (no good for my P35) but they dont show the 8800GTs in SLi.
Here's another one

Another one from Firing Squad. Compares it to the GT, GTS, SLi'd, etc. No 3870 X2 in the mix, though.

Pointless yet, new drivers aren't out, so it's not performing as it should
2 x 8800gts 512mb's for me then...
I think i'll be sticking with my 8800gtx for now :-)
i dont see the point to be honest the current best 8xxx series is enough for anyone. with the exception of crysis playing smoother, that card wont make any other game run better/worse
True, but it's about all nV can do to provide a solution that's faster than the 8800 Ultra in the majority of games without having to unveil a new gen card that's obviously being saved for a more appropriate time.
It's a card to consider for Intel P35 / X38 users that want SLI performance without having to replace their board with an nForce one. Furthermore, it'll still sell for those that crave to have top end hardware at all costs.
It seems to be near enough as quick as 8800GTS' in SLI and perhaps that will even out a bit more as drivers mature.
Definitely not a card I'd consider as it simply doesn't suit my needs but it's nice to see another dual gpu card on the market. Though I've already spotted retailers from various countries listing these as 1GB cards with 256 streams and a 512bit memory interface. Very misleading for the less tech savvy.

I wonder if Nvidia will follow AMDTI and release a 9600GTx2?
Although IIRC there is only clock speed differences between the 3870 and 3850 unlike the 9800xx and 9600xx
Btw its not AMDTI, its DAAMIT, which is an anagram of their names lol.
I've always just called the CPU's AMDs and Graphics cards ATi's as the two brands still exist. DAAMIT is incredibly The Inquirer/Fudzilla'esque.
Probably would be interesting to see a 9600GX2 kind of card as it could weigh in at around £220 like the 3870X2. Though I don't see it happening.
It will be £400 in about a years time, we dont get reasonable prices on nvidia here, or ati for that matter, even though their more reasonable.

It might actually pay to buy from Germany, one of the big sites did a cost comparison around the world and Germany had the best prices in Europe
