DG834G syncing slower than O2 Wireless Box

Hello all,

Switched from O2 Wireless Box to Netgear DG834G about 2 months back, today plugged in the O2 Wireless Box and found that it instantly is syncing at 2mb, whereas the DG834G syncs at 1.3mb. On Speedtest.net I get 2.1mb from the O2 Wireless Box but 1.1mb from the DG834G.

Any halp?

Try updating the firmware on the Netgear or just use the O2 box.

Am on the latest firmware and the O2 box is awful for port forwarding.

I had the same problem with both a Draytek Vigor 100 Modem and a Netgear DG834N, I feel your pain though, was ripping my hair out over this! O2 while helpful ultimately couldn't help, and Draytek were excellent, even sending me customized firmware to run on my 100 modem, alas it didn't work out.

However what I've done now is put the O2 box in to modem only mode and hooked that to the WAN port on my Airport Extreme, synching as fast as it can now.
