Was inevitable imo.
Liverpool clearly think they are better than they are.
I bet they don't do any better.
Can someone post games played won drawn lost please for Liverpool this season then we can see.

woke up this morning thinking that the game v ManU would be the breaking point tomorrow. First time ever I'ev really thought of jumping on the wagon of calling for a manager to go, but after seeing some of the pictures from the Blackburn game, it didn't look good.
I wonder who opened the "mutual consent" conversation.

The players need to take a long hard look at themselves now ....

I doubt it'll be any better in the next 18.
life long red and I gave up on this season before it started. think we are better than we are? no we know we are better than a mid table manager which at the end of the day is all hodge is. he did well last year in Europe and that got him the credit it deserved but it in now way warranted him getting the helm at Liverpool. he was just another in the long list of mistakes that was made by those who are now longer in charge at anfield.
I don't expect kenny to work miracles but I would bet every penny in my pocket that he gets them playing for the badge, which I don't think they have been at all this year, yea the odd game here and there but for me watching them this year its been like watching a different team.
man u game I hope we lose, we need to worry about the league not a cup run.

Well he managed to get blackburn a top ten finish 6th i think and two 7th places with fulham.
Better than mid table.
I really hope Liverpool suffer now as they have blamed poor performances and a mediocre squad on a good capable manager.
I said to Sibeer at the start of the season, you can't sell the players you guys did and not bolster the squad and still expect to cut it in the premier league with all the improving teams.

glad you were satisfied
so was i
I have done quite well this year betting against Liverpool tbh.
he did yea Wayne, he also finished what? 12th last year?
if we are ignoring the most recent history we can talk about Liverpool being the most successful English club ever if you want and all those times we have been the top club in Europe too.
I'm not going to argue the point about the players as you are right, but that was a failing of the old regime just as much as hodge was.
personally I just think some people are now getting worried as Liverpool might start playing like Liverpool again now.
I'm not worried, they need to buy some better players first to secure a top half finish.
Gerrard looks fed up, you can see when he scored against blackburn, he speeds up for a second as if he's going to get the ball form the back of the net for a quick restart but then doesn't bother.
And he looked abit nonchalant with the penalty as well.
Gerrard and Torres need some more quality in the squad to take the pressure off of them.
Need to buy a good solid defender and another midfielder at least.
for me the question isnt what we need, its a question of who we cant replace and then just sack the rest of the squad and start again. imo it has gotten that bad, raffa did some daft trasfers in his last year and well i still think its too soon to really tell about this year as they have been as good in 1 game as they have been bad the next. it also take time to find your feet in the prem, you can count on 1 hand the few players who have hit the ground running over here.
i said back in the summer that this year was a write off for us, and so far its proved to be so. now we need them to show why they are liverpool players and show they deserve to be. i said raffa going was a bad move for both parties and look how its panned out lol

out of interest el wayneo who do you support?
Fair enough.
They need to start getting players in though, summer is too late as they won't gel at all.
With it looking like Man City and Tottenham making a Big 6 rather than 4 its going to get tougher to get back in.
I've avoided commenting on this thread all day, mainly because as a United fan it's not really to much of a big deal to me.
What I would say is that maybe this was a good bit of business for Liverpool at the right time, especially if your after a reaction from the players before a big game that can either make or break your season.
Personally I don't think it was all Roy's fault, other than Gerrard & Torres there isn't really anyone else that would walk into any of the top teams first team.
Just hope there away form carries on as bad as it's been tomorrow ;)

You cant ignore recent history and the facts are that Man Utd are the most successful English club ever now. Anyone who argues that point are living in the past, but stats are pretty meaningless anyway, whats important is tha LFC are a shadow of the great club they once were and are years away from turning it around.
People harp on about how Dalglish was a great manager, but what did he ever achieve without everything being laid on a plate for him ?
Paisley built the great squad of the 80's, King Kenny just inherited a team noone could beat enough to knock off the top. At Blackburn he basically bought the title with Walkers cash. What did he manage to do elsewhere ? nothing. Keegan is a better manager than him but i wouldnt touch him with a bargepole either, he would have a cry and quit like he does everywhere else.
Unfortunately, money has ruined football and Liverpool just cant compete financially, long gone are the days when pride won out over money in the top echelons of our game.

Kenny did AMaZING things with Liverpool back in the day, I hope he still has the golden touch. Might make me pay more interest into football again, I dont think Ive really given a damn about football since back in the Ian Rush and John Barnes 'good old days'

Ooo, I'll bite :D You couldn't be further from the truth. Paisley made some great signings, Ian Rush being the most notable I suppose, but don't forget Fagan who was in between. 85/86 was the year, the clubs first "Double" and that was with Kenny at the helm, the next season was a trophy less if I recall, the plastic pitch side Luton knocking us out the cup, I remember that day :( So if he inherited a great side, how did the win nothing and then return the following season with the league with four games left and that first ever match when Rush scored and Liverpool failed to win again Wimbledon. It was Kenny who signed JohnBarnes, Ronnie Whelan, Steve McMahon and the backbone of what was a dominating side at the time.
Onto Blackburn, just remind me how many seasons it took Chelsea to buy the league? Let's be honest, he won that with Shearer and Sutton :D Newcastle didn't go so well, and he got a trophy with Celtic, although sitting mainly behind the scenes more, not wanting the stress of being manager. Unfortunately, the front man John Barnes was the man sent away.
The same at Liverpool really, just what happened at Celtic. Kenny doesn't seem to want management in the pure sense, he seems to just not want the stress, also wanting to pull strings behind someone else who can take it. I'm looking to next season now really as a Liverpool fan. A young, local, fan of Liverpool as manager with Kenny to sit there and word in the ear. An old favourite maybe, someone who wore the badge with pride as a player? A few names have been mentioned, but it would be a big risk.
What happens this afternoon will be interesting. I know there is a concentrate on the league, but there's no trophy there. I think the cup is probably the last hope of silverware this season, so may as well truly go for it today, knocking out one of the 6 that could provide some stubborn opposition later would be a good start. Knowing the `pool, that would be win v ManU and lose against some lower division club next round.
The squad is good enough, just none of the players have come close to being as good as they can be, Carra is getting older but is a rock when fully fit. One of the most exciting wing backs in Johnson, also crocked most of the season. We still miss Alonso so much though.
DT.
i agreee about the cash zaz, i mean long gone are thdays when a player plays for the team he loves as they are just a bunch of mercs now. city is a great case in point for this as nobody plays for them because they love the team.
i was on about the reds teeam before with a mate on the phone (hes a toffee) and we have a good team, but thats it just 15 or 16 top players, but not a squad like the top teams so if we get a few playing below par or they take a knock we dont have the quality to cover. what we do have tho is players from all over the world who are willing to bust their gut for the team that they love, tevez wanted to join us the other year but the offer of 3 times the money from city won out, funny how it works eh.
oh zaz, before i forget ;) win another 3 european cups and then i might agree about manu too :thumb:
dt i really want jewel me as i think he is the type of gaffa we need. he sets out to play nice football but will send them out to grind out a game too if needed and he doesnt take no **** either.
