Have just bought a new Phillips 220ws8fs.
Seemed to work ok for a few hours but now seems all red pixels are stuck "on"
If i set my background colour to black then the screen has a mixture of black and red speckles all over it. Same if i set it to red.
I believe every pixel is divided in red, green and blue. it seems all the reds are permanently on.
I am using the recommended display rates.
i am using a dvi converter on graphics card with vga cable to vga connection on monitor.
When i use the OSD contrast tweaker, it goes from white to black with an ever increasing amount of red across the range to finally black/red.
I will be calling phillips helpline but i would like to know what the problem is in case i am told any porkies!
Thanks

Have you made sure the connections are screwed in? Because my screen goes red when my cable is loose.

Have tried on a second machine with ati 9700 graphics and windows 2000. Same problem. I am using omega drivers on both machines. Neither overclocked.

If you get the same problem on both then i would say its a display problem, get an RMA from aria.

Hi there. Could try that. Am not at home now. strange that it is same on two machines. Will try to find dvi to dvi cable this week and see if that helps.

Yeh before you rma, you gotta check if its cable or converted causing the problem.

I get a similiar issue, sometimes my monitor flickers from light to darker, something to do with the £2 cable

Have tried vga to vga on another machine and same problem.

Can you guys help me choose the correct dvi cable to buy from aria?
My graphics card from aria is radeon 256mb hd3850 with 2 x Dual Link DVI-I / S-Video
My monitor has a DVI-D socket.
Thanks
P>S> The DVI-I and DVI-D socket has got me confused and dont want to buy cable with wrong connectors.

why are you buying a cable? Its clearly a hardware fault if you say you tried "vga to vga on another machine" RMA it
