If you're on the move you don't want a 17" - they're big and quite large to move around.
15" seems to be the sweet spot personally.
Sony Vaio E series are great.
You know with requirements like that you'll be looking well over £800!! And no 3TB isn't possible in laptops yet I don't think. Have a look at dell/alienware laptops. You can customize them on their site.

i will have to get a 1tb internal drive and another 2tb external drive
i want all my music etc with me
What are you actually doing with your laptop? I'm with Toonshorty here - 15" is much better for constant travelling. Sandy Bridge is also going to debut on laptops very soon, and if you're just wanting to watch Blurays and play modest games, the onboard GPU will probably be fine (again, depending on reviews).

if you are only moving every few months and need a fairly beefy spec, surely a desktop is better?
moving a desktop and monitor etc every few months can't be that bad :/!?

trust me its nightmare when you put it together with a dozen books and cloths and a dozen other things . Its also the risk of braking the thing in moving it i alreadey damaged my old screen had to buy a new one

It does sound like a desktop would be better suited to your storage needs because thats where you will struggle a little with a notebook.
I just got my wife a HP DV7 17" notebook for £250ish, pretty decent but the hdd @ 250gb might be on the small side for you but it has caddys to accept 2 hdd's.
