quick ram question

ok i have 2gb of 800mhz ocz platinum ram (2x 1gb)

i have a gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R mobo and a 64bit os

and was wondering if i get a set of 2x 2gb ocz gold to put with it would it work.

Yeh the gold would work, but i would say that another stick of the same stuff is always best, the ram will run as fast as the slowest stuff in there.

ok thanks i appreciate it, it was a toss up between 4gb of platinum or 2gb of platinum and 4gb of gold

seen as the gold (fastest of the 2) would run at the platinums speed i may as well just go with the platinum

Thats a fair assumption, and also double check you have all the voltages at sufficient levels not at default.
