750w Silverstone SST-OP750, 60A on single + 12V rail.

But unfortunately Aria don't sell Silverstone products.

probably the corsair 750w . I should really upgrade myself , but I have a HEC 550w that just performs , no matter what overclocks/extra peripherals etc I throw at it

what about the tagen which can switch between 6 and 1 12v rail or the corsair 650w with 60amps on the 1 rail too?

Seasonic m12 series - one of the higher efficiency (something like 84%+) and not too badly priced modular PSUs. After using Modular supplies for mates PCs recently, I wish I had an m12 600 instead of an s12 600... much much tidier... also, from memory, Seasonic came first by a way in the PSU test Custom PC did a while backwith the s12 series.

edit - http://tinyurl.com/yszxfp (http://tinyurl.com/yszxfp) m12 600 £93.75 incl vat on Aria... would you really need more than 600watts unless you were running tri sli or quad crossfire x?

Something from PC&C

you mean PCP&C - PC Power & Cooling...

Bit over budget;

My vote would be for one of the Tagan - 30341

ok, let me move the goal posts slightly, it cant have a 120mm+ fan on the bottom, it must have an 80mm fan on the back due to the case it will be fitted in. also would like to be semi modular with the 24 pin/4/8pin and pcie hardwired for stability but others to be mod.

man i liked that red xfire psu.

While it's a bottom mounted PSU, it looks as though it's got holes for ventilation. Though I agree it's not ideal. Shouldn't pose any problems for a case that sits on a table. Could do on one that sits on carpet though.

Doesn't the PSU sit upside down (so the fan will be on top) in the CM690?

If not - Cooler Master will definitely have accomodated for PSU with fans on the bottom - like all of their own!

the case does have a vent in the base for the psu but it ends up caking the unit in dust as this house is so old, not only that the noise of the air going thru that vent can really wind me up. i currently have it upside down with the fan on the top but im not a huge fan of this config as i have lots of little gpu ram heatsinks dotted about my mobo as it only had cooling on the nb as stock, i have added them to the power regs for the cpu and vdimm and would hate to think of the damage one could do if it fell into my psu. so that is the main reason i want a psu with 80mm fan not 120mm.

It can't fall into your PSU if you have a fan guard on it, or if it is the same as the antec it has a raised platform with a gap for air to go underneath it and into the fan... you could mount it that way if you're really concerned

How about one of these... http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Power+Supplies/500w+%2B/Antec+TruePower+Quattro+850W+Modular+PSU+?productI d=28843

80mm fan in rear, semi modular BUT whilst it comes with lots of modular cables for drives etc, well the 1kw version i had did anyway. You can only plug 3 cables in at a time so it might come up short on physical connections if you have alot of drives / other shizzle running off of molex connectors.

Advice on Corsair TX750:

Why you're at it, get a pair of decent earplugs to avoid ear bleeding as well as some thick gloves or you would get burnt badly touching it.

It's the worst PSU I've ever used, noise-wise! Compare to my old Seasonic S12-500 the fan makes noise like a 747 taking off the runway and stupidly hot under no load whatsoever.

Get the HX620 or if you don't want modular the best choice is Seasonic S12 Energy Plus 650W.
