For those with MSI P35 Neo2-Fr, FIR or Platinum boards
Here is a mod to help with VDroop

Pencil mods = NASTY.
They tend to only be temporary too, though i haven't done any of these type of mods i might consider it if i was going for some hardcore overclocking but it would have to be "proper" mods, ie soldered ones with variable resistors.

Thats why I used the thread tittle!
personaly I am more than happy with my q6600 @ 3Ghz with no voltage changes required.
If I am doing a bit of video conversion then I kick in a 400x8 giving me 3.2Ghz but I have to up the voltage so I don't like doing it too often.
I did get it to about 366x9 but for me it was getting to hot.
does anyone remember unlocking the multipler on athlon XP palomino cores ? That was some tricky stuff lol

Somebody i know pencil modded his 680i A1 and it how him to near 4.1 GHz on water iirc
i did one on my p5nesli but they wear off after about 3 or 4 weeks, did it a couple of times but then gave up on it.
Pencil mods you are supposed to seal them with something after doing them, tape / nail varnish etc. Either way its a real cowboy way of volt modding and imho is only a temporary mod to see if its worth going the whole hog and soldering a potentiometer on to do it properly.
i know who to talk to if i ever want to do some volt mods then, seeing as its your line of work :)
Anyone tried a pencil doodle mod on an old battered board?
Just scribbling all over it then powering up?
;)
