View Full Version : 2 x 580s (With a 480 on the side ;))
City Link has just delivered my second 580 and I can tell you all can't get enough of looking at my system (;)) so I've taken some obligatory piccies :D.
I was going to have the 2 580s in and the 480, but then I'd have to take the sound card out, to take the 1st 580 out to take the 2nd 580 out to take the 480 out so I can put the 2nd 580 in it's place and I really cba :P.
Shall be benching etc this evening :D.

Yo' crazy man, but I like it... a lot :P
Can't wait for some benchies. You should try running F@H too, see how many points you can get :thumb:

If there's a powercut tonight we all know who to blame. :thumb:
Looks impressive dude, but that many fans aren't you worried people will mistake your tower as a hand-dryer?
:p
Hope to see some numbers soon

look much better if you got rid of the H50
I'd love to see it with the 480 in aswell and see benchies/F@H....

Eh? H50 looks fab imo, much better than any ugo air cooler.
Oh btw, I just ran the Mafia 2 benchmark with physx off and the rest maxed out and got avg of 115 fps :).

He won't do if he has ample air cooling.
H50 rocks as well aesthetically at least.
your case looks cramped :p time for a bigger one
nice so when u upgrading u power supply and i guess u be keeping stock cpu and gpu
but tbh u going to need to over clock u cpu if u want to see what the cards can do
but with ever thing u got in u pc u going to struggle
hes already done that thanks to me :P
also k3vst3r it's the haf X can't get much bigger..

CPU is oc'ed and will OC GPU when doing benchies etc as I don't exactly need to OC my cards as I'll get max performance in games at stock .

DUDE! put them spare cables behind the motherboard tray
that is what the gap there is for
you are an insult to all HAF X owners until you do :D
also get a third 580 and give me your 480 for free :D
thats just madness

Lol have you seen how many cables I've got behind the mobo?!?! It'll be a struggle to put any more behind it and through the cable tidying holes as the holes are basically packed lol.

allso reading about u board it says it goes 16x16x1 or 16x8x8x
what i just read now is if its in white slot it dropped u card to 8x

The Haf X is the only board with 10 pci backplates so it will be the only case where my 2nd 580 actually has room beneath it.
And yea I know it is, but I think theres only a couple (if that) of fps decrease with x8 bandwidth.
all so u pulling about 736 wat benching stock clocks if i were u ide stay stock any sort of overclock going to put some realllll stress on u power supply
thats with no usb and only 2 drivers and 2 fans
now you just need energy monitor :p
looks great ;) I wish I could afford it lol
when you getting the 3rd one? :P

yes 75% on stock clocks with no over clock no usb only 2 hard drives pulls 736 wat go for any over clock u going to be pushing 95% +

doesnt crysis have an official benchmark?
Mr. Strawberry

yeah not that good though
you dont really get any intense gameplay to test the cards
maybe not but the fps will naturally be higher with the better cards with v sync off

your off your head but it looks cracking :D
i thought for x58 to do dual-card, you need to use first two PCIe slots. but Pullen here is using the southbridge PCIe slot. doesn't that make 2nd card to have only 4x PCie speed, thus bottlenecking?

good spot, does this work? i've been put off by x58 because of the PCi-e spacing. but if i can use the top and bottom one without performance drop. will open my options up for a x58 board
he tells me it works, im just asking around here to be proven right :D since i think his 2nd gtx580 is only on 4x PCie speeds, not unleashing its true potential.

should really be running at x16 x16 though
I don't think the drop in performance will affect me... lol.
Ive tried benching CF and SLI cards on my 2 x16 slots and a x16 and a x8 (to get some space / airflow between the cards) and there is minimal difference
This may be down to them also being PCIe 2 and having a higher bandwidth - not familiar with Pullens board and if it's 2.0 or 1.1 or if dropping down to x4 would have much affect, but would assume it has some affect

lol well use it then
16x makes naf all difference theirs like 2/3 fps in it between the x16 and x8... and with his 2 580's that makes no difference as he fps is high enough anyway.
his board will do x16 x8 x8 which is what he's done, with the middle slot free for air, id rather lose a few fps and gain the cooling.

Must have missed this thread first time around, but that's just a silly amount of GPU power right there! I hope your getting use out of it all mate lol.
Still playing BFBC2? If so, what kind of FPS are you pulling with that setup?
With my trusty GTS250 (when I had it) it ran fairly smoothly, i'm pretty sure yours would run like real life with that setup.
apparently 120 FPS or something really silly.
one gtx580 is more than enough :D
