Hi all Just bought a new 250Gb Western Digital SATA drive and it does not power up or do anything straight out of the bag. When I went to RMA it
Aria lists it as having to send to the manufacturer for warranty.
When I contacted WD they say the drive warranty expired 2 years ago.
Date of manufacture of drive Aria supplied 23rd May 2005.
Date of purchase of drive from Aria Feb 16th 2008.
All NEW WD drives since 2007 have a three year warranty those made
before 2007 have only a one year warranty.
The drive supplied was also a WD2500JD not a WD2500JS as advertised:-
https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Hard+Drives/Serial+ATA/250GB+Western+Digital+Caviar+SATA+8MB?productId=24 007
The obvious question is what the hell is Aria doing supplying 3 year old drives as brand new products ...shouldn't they be under clearance or something....
