Ouch, man if i bought these my missus would string me up by the balls ..

I'll have to wait and for a while b4 justifying, even to myself shelling out £400 on 2 cards.....

I new it was a bad idea asking, now i just want to order them and cancel my holiday.

Won't be doing that quite yet tho.

I assume the card in question is a whole lot better than my current one anyways. ?? will just buy one for the moment maybe. Seem to remember paying about £250 for the Fatal1ty on the review that they were there nuts..

Get that Holiday cancelled.... Who wants to spend 2 weeks avoiding skin cancer anyway, the memories of the time you had only last a few weeks when the joy of playing your fav games on full settings and having that warm feeling that you did the right thing sits inside you 6mths on when the memories of that holiday have long gone. :):)

Brand new card thats only been out a few days. IMHO currently a little over priced, for a little more you can get an 8800GT.

The 9600Gt will probably drop in the next couple of months.

http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=10801 has links to 10 reviews of these new cards

The 9600's aren't as good as the GT's

The 9600GT is just a hacked together version of the 8800GT, both are G90's, so i can't really see other than the name, why someone would want one of these

I remember the time whenthe geforce 4 came out, and everyone was selling them at bowlers, I went around asking for a geforce 3 Ti edition as they were still better. the sales guys were all 'Nope your wrong pal, the GF4 is much better'. Sure they had more support for texture stuff and what not, but i just wanted the clock speeds :D.

If the 9600Gt was priced where I think it should be £80-90 I would get one as the performance at that price is excelent.

But where the price is currently the perfomance relative to the 8800Gt makes the 8800Gt an no brainer.

Personally I will wait with the hope that a 9800Gt turns up very soon and I can pick up an 8800Gt for about £100 :P

Reading reviews - the 9600GT is designed to be a replacement for the 256MB 8800GT - which (when you enable anti-aliasing) it beats.
