my friend has bought one recently but can't get rid of all the junk that comes with it so does anyone know what needs to be done to get rid of all the crap on it?

yeah, you have to root it, and either put a custom ROM on it, or manually remove all the crapps. there's a guide on the MoDaCo forum....
BRB..

edit:
base forum:

it seems the options got a little more complicated sice i did mine... (I rooted and custom Rom'd it and it's turned a borderline awful piece of junk into a brilliant budget android)

still fishing for the best links...

ok, this is probably the best bet:

yeah ive saw that already but was put off by what it says within the following link

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747598)

ie: "EDIT2: Since Google patched the loop hole in 2.2.1, this app is no longer working for newer builds. For this reason the developer has stopped supporting the app. If you still want to use this, feel free to do so. It would not harm anything.
However if it doesn't root your phone, there are numerous other methods of rooting out there. I suggest SuperOneClick or unrevoked."

and tbh i don't really know where to go from their. also is their any guides to doing this stuff as i havnt done it before

ok, well to be fair, i didn't root with that app. but i can't remember what i did (was about 3-4 months ago now.)

I'll have another look as mine was seriously easy to do...

how do you check if its an oled or tft screen though as i would say his is tft as it was bought only a few days ago and that guide you used is for the oled version only

sorry, I have no idea. I got mine in the first week they were out, and knew nothing of the OLED/TFT thing til today... :(

I'm sure it's in that forum if you dig around. it seems to be the centre of all the hacking surrounding this phone
