[quote:2c55ae69cc=\"ÈL ® ö B ì Ñ\"]Right, bunged it on ebay and will buy the 4600 me thinks (if not then the 4200).

Will try and OC it too....anyone got msn who can offer support :D[/quote:2c55ae69cc]

If I were you I'd keep it and overclock the sucker for all it's worth!! I reckon that CPU will overclock as easily as the 4200+ I'm using.

The Maxtrox Productiva G100 - a truly disgusting card with driver problems, display problems AND (yes) personality problems.

thats just reminded me of my first CDRW bought at uni.

Phillips CDD 3610 £299.99 took bout 20 mins to do a cd and you couldnt do anything with the pc while it was doing it - the days before buffer underrun technology...

No, but a few years ago I wandered into my local component shop and asked for a budget gaming graphics card. Still relatively green at the time, I accepted his recommendation and bought an MX440. About 3 to 6 months later, having found little difference in combination with my XP3000, I bought thief 3 and realised it needed a pixel shader. I went to the other component seller in hull and the guy there said 'what have you got an MX440 for? That's absolutely no use for games\" So I bought a 9800 pro instead, which worked just a little better  , but felt like a total fool for not having done my research first time around

[quote:375023380e=\"ÈL ® ö B ì Ñ\"]Being 18, 4-5 years ago I could afford expensive computer stuff.

I remember, bout 4 years ago now I got a 120GB HDD and DVD writer for christmas (nerd?), dad spent hundreds.

Now, get the same for prolly £60 del.

Nothing you can do really, take my 7800gtoc for example, I paid about £200, this time in 3 years i'll look back and laugh prolly.[/quote:375023380e]

My 7800GT was also around £200, crazy to think it'll be crap by next year eh? :)

If you get an AM2 board you need an AM2 CPU and DDR2 memory, I just can't see the point at the moment :)

Especially as DDR2 at the moment is very poor.

nVidia GeForce 6200. I had £100 to spend on a new graphics card, and instead I bought that pile of junk and some other piece of worthless technology...oh yes, and ASRock Skt 478 Mobo. An upgrade from my old old old socket 478 that was only AGP 4x capable, so I thought it would increase the capabilties of my 6200. Instead it was just a pile of junk. Then I got a GF7600GT and OCed the memory to 850 Mhz (1700 Mhz effective) and the core 2 650 Mhz, and its a beast. Definately one of my best buys. =)

Never because I always buy to what I can afford. If do change my mind about something I know straight away just after ordering that I am not really happy and cancel before the product is sent out. Sometimes I do wish I had more money to spend to buy the next processor up or memory but because I haven't I am happy with what I have bought.
