Right started playing about ocing and i can manage to get 350fsb (1300) on a q6600 with an asus P5N32-E board.

Last about 10 mins then get a bloue screen and have to reboot.

would this be down to voltage settings. Have looks through various posts etc on overclocking and have a rough idea and was looking to use these as a basis.

Vcore - 1.5v
memory - 1.8 (not sure what to set this at, memory is XMS6400 corsair 4 x 1gb)
1.2v HT - 1.2/1.3
NB core - 1.3/1.4 ??
SB Core - 1.3/1.4/1.5 ??
CPU VTT - max out at 1.55

Was hoping this setup should allow for a good 400fsb @ 9x = 3.6, but depends on cpu etc.

Initially though is the blue screens from an unstable overclock resulting from voltages as currently everything is set to auto.

The system is fully stable @ 325 (1300) but anything more and its a no go.

Thanks all

I don't know a great deal about your board, but I have my Q6600 running at 3Ghz on default settings. (on an MSI P35 Neo2-FR)

All i had to do with my board is change the Boot strap jumpers to 333.

I can run with total stablility at 3.2Ghz by upping the voltage by one setting, dropping the Multiplier to 8 and increasing FSB to 400 giving my PC6400 Patriot a 1:1 ratio, (4.4.4.12 timings @ 2.2v)

I can do 3.6Ghz but the voltages start to get a little scary for me.

Which cooler are you using? 3.6Ghz needs a very good cooler.

I a have just reveresed my T.R.U.E. and reapplied AS5 and my temps have dropped (3Ghz) running Prime95 (255) on all four cores I am getting 50,50,44,43 (Coretemp.exe)

Cooler is a freezer pro 7, with a antec 900 gamers case.

Problem i have is anything over the 325fsb (1300) and it will not boot, tried 1310 all the way up to 1380 then it does boot but not stable.

Might try upping voltages slightly and dropping multiplier to 8, but i did read that the q6600 work better at higher multipliers. Dunno how true that is.

Just a quick one what is the voltage for Corsair XMS6400 as it is shown in windows as 1.86v, but i have read that it requires 2.1v.

Have you tried CPu-z? it tells me, for example, that my Patriot runs

400 = 5,5,5,16 @1.8v Jadec standard or 4,4,4,12 @2.2V or 500 5,5,5,15@2.3V

Ill have a look as currently the voltage is set to automatic and on the ASUS boost thing it shows it as 1.87v @ 325, 5,5,5,12

Suppose that could be why when i tried going to the set 4,4,4,12 it would not boot as its not getting enough voltage.

Ill have a look when i get back form work and see whats what.

cheers for the help
