I thought sky routers had the Username & password hard coded so you couldn't change them?

I am not sure mate, you can factory restore the routers, but that's all i know.

Sky routers do have your username and password coded into them which is why you can't use your own router of choice without hacking it but we won't go into that.

In short you're probably better just destroying it and binning it.

They do, but I believe they can be reflashed to standard firmware :)

Infact, I know they can be because a guy I know is running an old sky router and he is on eclipse

Thats good news, might be worth Dan doing that first before he sells it!

sky routers iirc coime in 4 different varieties.

The only router that is worth anything 2nd hand are the white DG834GTs which can be flashed back to Netgear firmware by using the emergency flash method.

The Black Routers iirc are all bespoke Sky models and only any use with SKY broadband.

The User name and password are unique to the router NOT the user account.

So if you are on SKY BB you can plug in and use any router running a SKY firmware.

Hmmmm - the one my friend is running is a dark colour, but its a dark blue and based on a netgear router.. But I think his is (VERY) dark blue....

the "dark" netgear is a 934G not a regular Netgear model iirc
