Hi folks, i have put together a new system which i had hoped to overclock, but when i switch main power on, the fans spin up, lights on the mother board come on with 'no signal' on the sceen and nothing else. Spec..

Intel e4300 with scythe infinity for overclocking..
Evga 680i SLI
Patriot 800mhz ddr2 2gb
MSI 8800GT
500gb samsung spinpoint HD
Hiper 580w PSU.
Antec 900 case.

The led readout on the mboard looks like this -- and there are 3 lights lit at the top right hand corner. No beeps. Can this thing be underpowered? I remove the graphics card power cable and i get a long beep. I remove the card altogether and just nothing. Just 'no signal' on my screen.

Can anyone help! http://www.overclock.net/images/smilies/confused.gif

checking the obvious:-

Have you got the 4/8 pin cable connected to the motherboard?

Have you checked the position of the Clear Cmos jumper if fitted.

If so, remove everything except the graphics card, the 2 power leads (20/24 and 4/8) and the power switch. Then try again.

Try with just one Dimm.

I had issues with my MSI board with the Patriot ram have you another stick of DDR2?

Try it outside the case to rule out any shorting issues

As for the PSU, depending on age it should be fine my system is different from yours (I have a Q6600 @ 3Ghz and a 6800Gt @ stock) on a Type R 580W

Thanks for the tips, tried all you suggested, still nothing. No response from the mboard, no beeps. Looks like it's knackered. :(
