Can someone help me please? I installed Fedora 12 by following instructions on the Amahi website. I got up to the point where it says open the amahi installer by clicking on the icon on the desktop but there is NO icon on the desktop. I included this step in the process in case anyones wondering:

Click on the "Add additional software repositories" button and add the Amahi repository with the following information:

Repository name: Amahi Repository URL: http://f12.amahi.org
Link to install instruction :http://www.amahi.org/instructions/install_fedora

It looks like the icon is just a shortcut to launch firefox with the URL http://localhost:2000

You could try manually launching firefox and typing that URL in ? :)

I get no firefox icon on desktop - only the bar at top.

I typed that url in and get the "unable to connect cant establish connection with localhost:2000"

hmm, obviously the missing icon does something else too, like installs the service and/or launches the service...

troubleshooting steps are here http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Installation_troubleshooting

There's some good commands to run there - well worth running through, should point you in the right direction :)
