I use Nero 10, much better than 8 and 9. Works with just about everything.

Used to use Nero but it started annoying me, now I use ImgBurn and will never look back.

Imgburn or Infrarecorder.
CDburnerXP is very like Nero, good, and free.

I always used Nero, in various releases until the licenses or trial periods ran out. I'd quite fancy Nero 10 but it seems expensive.

The volume of emails I get from Nero offerring various money saving deals (which aren't really ) suggest to me they are desperate.

Still, great burner software imho. I'm still trying to find something shareware / free that is as good and easy to use.

Before adding more gewgaws to your system, why not see if you need it? You don't say what you want to do, which makes it hard to offer sensible suggestions, but many people get by with the burning features now built into Windows.

I usually use the burner to burn some iso's and videos and what not.. Didn't know you could get a free version of Nero, that sounds good to me :)

Imgburn all the way.

What this man said.

Nero messes with your OS and is a heap of brown smelly stuff.

i just use the bog standard windows burner. Seeing as it now supports .iso files. Mind you dont really burn much anymore since memsticks are a decent size.

MagicISO is my choice if needed.

Another +1 for ImgBurn. Very light and easy to use.

I use Burnaware. http://www.burnaware.com/ It's free, but you do get the Ask toolbar unless you uncheck that option during install.

i thought intel burn test was the best? or furmark.

so are we talking optical drives here or other burn programs?

really there is a whole section for storage, and missing that there is a bit for general hardware. but you missed them both and put it in off topic general discussion.
