Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

This board has HDMI turned on by default from purchase.

It states in the manual on page 21

"When installing a PCI EXpress x16 graphics card, make sure to set the HDMI Support item in the BIOS to (OFF) otherwise, you will not see the screen display"

On page 35 it shows the HMDI PCI-e card you have to use initially with a HDMI cable or the included YPbPr cable to get into the bios to turn off this feature.

THe VGA or DVI on the back of the motherboards onboard VGA don't work. A PCI-express gfx card doesn't work.

The only working output from this board by defualt is HDMI and Component.
How backward is this?

The baord should carry a disclaimer "you will need a HD telly and HDMI cable, or a telly with component RED BLUE and GREEN connections to use this board!"

heres the manual, can't believe ASUS let this one go.

I think u can just bodge the 3 R + G + B cables of component together to get a picture down a yellow RCA cable. But the quality wouldnt be good.

I'm guessing its aimed squarely at the htpc market?

Yeah you would think the HDMI would be disabled by default so once youve got it set up you can stick the HDMI card in and enable it.
