can anyone please help,
just bought a ASUS M2N-SLI DLX nF570 mobo, 4 gig of mem and amd 6400 black edition.
i am using my old sata harddrive with vista already installed, however i get a very quick disappering screen of blue death before it reboots, so i decided to reinstall windows.
The mobo only has one ide socket,so i plugged my dvd rom in but it does not reconginse any ide devices, i tried an old ide hard drive and it never picked this up, nor has it picked up alternative cdrom drive.
looking at the ide connection on the mobo, where the connection is for the centre pin, which is misssing, this connection is bent, not sure if thats a problem, the ide connection is an odd one on the edge of the mobo
i dont understand what i am doing wrong,does anyone have any ideas please
