View Full Version : Once bitten twice shy
hi everyone
under 9 months ago i purchased a asus striker extreme motherboard and from day one i have had issues with like ram, and copperhead mouse issues which i havnt fixed either.
But after a lengthly talk with aria customer services they said they would take back the motherboard and give a refund and he did acknowledged they were a problem motherboard. i said i wouldnt want a refund but a credit on my account and i could choose another motherboard.
the question is should i opt for a the new 780i board? like the asus one?
i play games semi pro so need very good hardware and budget aint a issue.
but what annoys me the most is why one earth why i cant get my copperhead mouse to work with my pc just stupid it is.
i hope it aint come accross like a moan but to explain the issue and someone could help me in the right direction.

My Strikers Fine :) strange that eh?
I'd get the new Foxconn MARS one, recommended by overclockers:
Foxconn Intel P35MARS 775 Mainboard (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Motherboards/Socket+775+%28Intel%29/Foxconn+Intel+P35MARS+775+Mainboard?productId=2888 7)
The drivers are nice and small and its a very very good board.
As for the mouse, i don't know
what bois are you running on?
just found out last nite that i need bois 1305 to fix this habu mouse problem but i have encountered serious problems with it.

looking at the asus site i think i'll upgrade to 1401 and try overclocking some more.

you and your overclocking, but im still beating you on super pi showdown :D
aye, but your not running the lowest spec cpu in the list :P
aye i
could upgrade the bois from what i read from the asus forum its another dodgy bois with that being stated i think the best option is to rma it to aria and get a better board.
this is the thing should i get the 780i mobo from having problems with the 680i one that i currently have. as most of you know that this striker has been on problem after another and even EVGA has offered EVGA 680i mobo owners a upgrade option to 780i series mobo for a small fee, with that being said even EVGA admit that the 680i is a bad mobo from day one.
ofcourse aria have said that would give a refund or a credit for the price i paid for and they even know that this mobo has been a problem for them and i am in my right to change it from the facts around on the internet about this mobo.
you have stay on a beta bois cos it runs stable that says it all but i cannot do that with the hardware i have. whats the point in having top end products when a top end mobo doesnt like running it. as most of you would be in the same situation as me money doesnt grow on trees and i saved hard for my hardware and connot every 3 or 4 months change all the time.
what do you think should i go for the 780i mobo or something else suggestions would be very greatfull cos i need something soon as i will be phoning them on monday about the situation and will be rma the mobo they have it on tuesday and would diagnose the mobo as faulty and credit my acount and i should be able to order a new mobo on wednesday evening at the latest (touch wood) budged isnt a issue i just want the best hardware and performance with out a mobo moanin at me all the time sayin cpu init, etc etc

I didn;t realise you had a Q6600. Sean (forum member & fellow house mate) has the Foxconn Mars i mentioned above, i'd really recommend swapping the striker for that one. If your thinking 'FoxConn' Why would anyone buy that rubbish then this board will totally change your opinion of them. It helped him to reach 4Ghz on his Quad on Air, and it's still going. It IS the best Quad core board you can get, check it out...

evga doesnt think so as there offering evga 680i owners a upgrade to it
