View Full Version : Returned 8800 GTS
Returned my 8800 GTS to Aria as per thread: http://forums.aria.co.uk/showthread.php?t=3811
Just had email to say the part is not faulty  I am sure the Asus p35 premium is compatible with this card :| not sure what to do next !
Just looked up my specs of my PSU (Tagan 480w PSU TG480-U1) and it says it has 28w on the 12v rail which should be ample
You do have a Quad core too.. Tried it with someone elses psu?
So are you saying the 28a 12v rail isnt enough? what sort of 12v rail spec should I be looking at? besides the fan on the graphics spins up! I am sure the 8800 G92 12v rail recommendation is 26a?
don't forget though there are alot of other things that require 12v too.
Personally i would want at least a 600watt psu from a good manufaturer to power your rig. Tagan ARE good but i doubt the 480 has the gonads to power your spec of pc.
OMG! Got my graphics card back today as sent it back and was told it had been tested with no faults!
So I thought logical thing was to order a new PSU (Corsair TX 650w) All arrived and put it together.
UNREAL... still same problem! tried old graphics & worked 1st time!
I am at a loss, going work
are you connecting the PCI-e x16 power connector?
try upping your nb volts, 4 stix of ram and alot of info for that gpu all going thru it might need more power.
ok.. finally got it working. Stripped out PC onto wooden block.
1800xt works fine in main PCI slot, 8800 doesnt.
popped 8800 in 2nd PCI slot and it now works?
Glad its working, but not how it should be! lower slot is very tight with **** airflow around it so far from ideal!
compatibility problem? asus main PCI slot borked? RMA the mobo?
You sure no misplaced gold standoffs havent blown the PCI-e circuit on top slot?
Nope all lined up correct, besides 1800xt works fine in it
