A E8600 for £115 inc?
Somthings not right...
Anyone tell me when there in stock?
/me thinks thats a guestimate price to get it onto the site..then when they come into stock it will change
I have seen them elsewhere, in stock, for about £125. So yeah if thats the actual price it is very good.
should have arrived yesterday with the 8500s but didnt :(
Anyone tell me when its in and how much it would be?
I think its more then i want to spend even though:(
OK. E2180 it is then. Just need a spair 5 mins to order it all. Busy today!
Thank god for lunch breaks :)

Just buy it!
the new wolfdales are great , with impressive stock performance , and massive overclocking headroom without extereme cooling. price wise they are excellent
just a shane nobody has them in for a reasonable price :D
still waiting with baited breath for that email over here you know ;)
The price sounds right to me. The E8200 is meant to sit in the price bracket where the E6550 was. Fair play to them for not hiking the prices like other retailers due to the blatent lack of supply of these 45nm Wolfdales.
Mul
my e8400 cost 128 inc vat and delivery . head over to the superPI thread to see how it performs
In sitting here anxious about getting my e8500. I want one so bad before i33. gah, then I can overclock it also for superpi
Cleggypdc,
Just out of interest, have you already preordered/bought your E8500? Reasoning behind asking this was at least based on the recommended retail prices that Intel had set in US Dollars ($163 for the 8200, $183 for the 8400 and $266 for the 8500) it would be a better idea to buy an E8400 considering the price difference between itself and the E8500 gives you the 9.5x CPU Multi over the 9x or rather an extra 166MHz. Just seems to me like the E8200 and E8400 are better value for money.
Just a personal opinion of course and everyone's situation and preferences are different. :)

the 9.5 multi will definately help overclocking tho in termbs of motherboard FSB limit , but in all th 8400 is best velue for money at only 15=20 quid more than the 8200
Yeah, that's a fair point I suppose. Depends on what clock speeds you're aiming for really.
Most respectable motherboards generally shouldn't have a problem taking Core 2 Duo's up to around 400-450FSB, bare minimum. In the context of these new Wolfdales is 3.6GHz to 4.05GHz on the E8400 and 3.8GHz to 4.28GHz on the E8500. Definitely a clear difference between realistically when we get to speeds like that, it's difficult to distinguish between the two CPU's without actually counting how long it takes to encode video or do 3dmark06 or SuperPi for example. In any case, both CPU's would likely be near their limits on air anyway. :)
In the context of Cleggy, I don't know what setup he's putting the CPU in but if it's the one in sig, a Striker Extreme and some sets of OCZ Special Ops wouldn't have a problem with putting an E8400 through it's paces for a fair amount cheaper.
