In the old days, Creative Labs optical drives were known as CD killers for their ability to shatter discs at high speeds...

False I think, tho' it has happened to me - not with a creative drive however.
Horrible noise and took ages to get all the bits out.
I owned one of them, never skipped a beat...

I could do with that drive to be honest :)
false - mythbusters tried this and they had to use a grinder to get the cd to speeds fast enough to shatter disc's although disc faults may have caused some to shatter

i've had a friend shattered CD in his drive, can't remember if it was by Creative
Deffo FALSE on the early drives.
Can't believe that 1X/2X speed drives would ever do that ;)
Maybe a later model from them or a competitor ? ?

yes it was another one of my lies. False! :D
However, there was a brand of cd killer but I really cant remember what it was. They span so hard and so fast you could hear the cds cracking up inside.

Make a spreadsheet with all the posters followed by their answer (true or false).
When Robin says "It's false" then he just hits filter by 'false' and gets a list of people that answered false.
Simples.

Why not use the notes to just buy one? Anyway I honestly never made that all in one go, I did a bit when this was up to like page 4. Then did the rest now around 21:45 :p. Something I can't be arsed to do again, still felt like ages :(.
