Looking back in the stats... what do you think is the best selling CPU we ever had? we have stats going back many years :D
Answers in by 2pm!
I'm guessing the Q6600 :)
it's wrong but the chip was awesome
Q6600.

Pentium 4! (Can I be that vague?)
Its a vague question. Is it as a brand? The Pentium CPUs are the best ever sold.
But if you are about a specific CPU I will go for the Q6600.
Am gonna go with the Q6600
power fuse0

intel q6600
Q6600 got to be a certain!

I'm sure its gotta be the old Athlons maybe the xp2700
Could really do with this as well!
Good luck all :)
I'm with everyone else Q6600
Pretty sure you need to be a bit more specific than "Intel Dual Core" or "Pentium 4"..
I'm going for the AthlonXP 1700+
If I can be more vague, then the AthlonXP.
If I can be more vague than that and just pick a brand, then I pick Intel.

the q6600:)
Well he says best selling cpu, doesn't say best selling cpu brand or model.
I would guess Q6600 legendary cpu
Delta Whiskey

P4 3.0 GHz
Pentium 4 of some sort? 2.8-3.2ghz?!
Don't know how specific you want us to be?!

Q6600 if it has to be precise. If model I go for pentium 4.
Damn I need this gpu, X600s are pretty old now
I would say one of the E series, maybe the E5200.
Q6600 I guess but really have no idea I much prefer the true or false questions :)

i7 980x I reckon..............
q6600 really is my guess.
i7 980x I reckon..............
Only First Answer Counts... :ninja:
My answer is the 2500XP Barton core as no one else has guessed that yet
But it is probably the Q6600, with an outside chance of the E6300 or P4 3.0Ghz HT
Pentium 4
Which CPU in the P4 range though?
AthlonXP 1600+ They used to be fantastic overclockers. Had one running at 2.5GHz on air.
I think it might be one of those E series dual cores from intel, but I think the Q6600 would have been more attractive.
So I would say the Q6600.

Going with the Q6600 but I have a niggling feeling about the 805D
Barton 2500, or at least something in the Barton range.
DT.
I'll try the E5200 - affordable, overclockable and around for quite a while.
E6600 ? cracking chip - loved to be punished :D

q6600. .
amd sempron 3400
this cpu has been sold across 3 sockets for many years, it has to be up there in the top sales chart.

Yup, I'm gonna go with the Q6600 as well.

18-11-10, 11:29
Hopefully Pentium 3 1 Ghz
If its not the Q6600 I will be mightily surprised.
I'd say the core 2 duo range as a whole but a single chip? :S

Q6600
intel
Intel Q6600 i mean
Yeah im going with the Q6600
I can't remember when aria was started... so I'll go with one of the most popular CPU's every one wanted.
Athlon Thunderbird (probably the 1.2ghz as it was a beast for overclocking).

18-11-10, 12:08
Just for a larf I'll say P4 2.8Ghz :)

18-11-10, 12:49
I'm going for a Socket 939 AMD Athlon 64 2GHz Newcastle core
Q6600, shameful copy because I have no idea :o:D
As soon as i saw this i thought Q6600
No idea too much choice, so for a laugh I will go with the first chip I used in the 1st PC I built......
Intel 486 DX4 (if memory serves me right....lol)
gotta be the q6600 that thing is a beast
Q6600 seems the best bet.

Broadsword1976
18-11-10, 13:41
I'm going with the Q6600 too - tho' I wish it was a 3200+ Barton Athlon XP - just think this chip broke boundaries in popularity and performance.
E8400
Just to be different. :)

Heh... Interestring stuff

It was the obvious answer. I can't think of any other processor that has stuck around as the sensible choice of the enthusiast for almost two years ;)
Out of interest did my 2500XP (Barton) make an appearance, that probably managed a year as the chip to have with easy OC to 3200XP before the Northwoods took over.
Excel has chosen...
Has to be the Q6600 G0.
:D

Well done. :D Good ol' Q6600 is still going strong these days.

Yeah, thats also why I went for the XP1700+.. Massively overclockable, and good price too. And it lasted for ever!

Congratulations Alex. :D
who has actually owned a q6600 here?
me for one

Basically the bottom chip in the range of most exciting new architectures have been the memorable ones. Well apart from obvious stinkers like the original and Prescott P4's and most of the AM2 range from AMD ;)
Thanks again guys! That was an easy question, a lot of correct answers.
I had a Q6600 G0. I only got rid of it because I fancied a move to AMD. It was, and still is, very capable when clocked to 3.2GHz or higher. Mine sat at 3.6GHz :)
That prize is perfect too btw, I've been looking for a new card for my HTPC and that fits the bill brilliantly. Someone can have my old card for free (Radeon 4350). I'll make a thread once it's out my system.
i owned one too good chip :thumb: actually owned E6600 too before Q6600 :thumb:
