View Full Version : HTC Desire - Awesome 3 Deal advice
Hello,
So I'm due an upgrade now, looking at the HTC Desire Graphite. Called up Three today to see if my contract had indeed run out and it had, and the guy made an awesome offer on the phone for me.
£20/m
HTC Desire Graphite (Free)
200 Minutes (Don't need more)
3000 Texts (Don't need more)
3000 3-3 calls (Don't need more)
2gb data
2 Year Warranty
2gb SD Card
18 month contract
Seems a real good deal to me.
I had to turn down though as I've not even held the phone yet and want to have a play first.
Just to clarify, am already with 3.
What's the chances I can get the same deal in a couple of days?
I've got the desire - I got it on saturday actually! Personally I wouldnt go with 3 because of the signal around here, but if its already working for you then why not!
Looks like a good deal to me tho. I just did a similar deal on Orange..
£22.50/month
300mins
Unlimited Texts
Unlimited Orange-Orange Calls
Unlimited Data
4Gb SD Card
And the real selling point was that the Desire I got is completely unlocked/unbranded too, so no faffing with having to unlock if I still want to keep it when I upgrade. The only downer is that its a 24month contract, but to be honest, thats fine by me!
If you're unsure about the phone, I can say you definitely wont be disappointed. The Desire or Samsung Galaxy S are fantastic phones. I also had a play with the Desire HD, as I could have had that in exchange for some more money, but it was just too big for my liking, so I went with the free Desire instead.. :)
Sweet, thanks for that. Will have a play with the phone tomorrow as I'm going into town.
the only downer i see with that is the sd card, 2gb is nothing when you look at the big picture, i have 8gb in mine and im looking for a 16 or 32gb one now as its almost full.
getting them in your hand is the best option imo, you know what feels right for you an no spec sheet will ever beat that. i too have a desire and the biggest reason i picked it was this. the hd2 was a little too big to feel right in my hand, the nokia i was looking at lost out as my last was a nokia and i wanted a change. some of the others were either uncomfortable or just felt like i would break them in no time.
I got a very good "retentions" deal with Orange... £17.50 pm, 600 mins/texts + 1gig... more than enough for me.
Only catch was they wanted £100 for the handset (this was in June when it was "new"), but that was fine as I sold my old one to mazuma for £96 :p Upside of that was mazuma let you keep your old msd card - so I've kept my old 8gig :thumb:
but yes, very nice deal - although it's kinda superseded by now with the desire HD and the galaxy... it is still a very capable phone and I'm totally happy with mine regardless of newer models coming out :)
Galaxy and HD are both much more expensive though. Really think I'm set on this.
To be honest, I couldnt really tell the difference in speed from the Galaxy to the Desire. Definitely a nicer screen on the Galaxy, but not by much.. The Desire HD was just too big to be useable for me though..

Aye, my point was that despite being superseded, the Desire is still absolutely brilliant, imo :thumb:

:D
Hope these bastards offer me the same deal tomorrow night when I ring them again.
I was shocked to find out the Galaxy S doesn't have a LED Flash. I think the Desire HD does though which is a big plus imo
Yeah, went for the regular Desire. HD was too big for me.
£20/month
18 month contract
200 minutes
3000 texts
2000 3-3 calls
1gb internet

I phoned Three yesterday as well to see if I could upgrade and ended up with a Desire HD for £22 p/m! The phone is free and I get about the same number of texts/calls as you. The contract is for 24 months though.

As said, found the HD too big for my liking, and thought the Galaxy S felt cheap.
Got mine for £30 a month
600 Mins
Unlimited texts
unlimited internet
4GB SD card
Orange and Tmobile signal
free tethering
