after a weekend of trying, i've finally gotten Mac OS X 10.6.4 (latest) fully working on my Compaq Mini 702EA (same as a variant of HP mini 1000). everything works, Atom speedstep, auto fan speed, sound, sleep, wifi and bluetooth, even the crappy webcam.

soooooo, what do i do with it?

so far, this netbook has been retired for 5 months. after graduating from uni, netbook has became a paper weight. therefore i see no harm in messing about with it. besides, windows 7 on it has became horribly slow over time, due to way too many development utility and demonstration stuff installed for uni projects. a reinstall is in order anyway.

i was hoping to try out iLife, there are speed issues and issues with lack of SSE3.

with OSX, it's a great net browser, same as with Win7 installed. what other software would work good on a low powered Mac? another question can be asked is what other software would work good on the 11 inch Air?

A different thread asking questions about hackintosh got locked by DT (http://forums.aria.co.uk/showthread.php?t=37793).

might be worth asking the question in a different wayto avoid the same happening here

thanks, removed hackintosh or reference to hackintosh. and reworded some sentense to make it seem more like asking about laptop software.

this is different from that thread because it's not asking help for installing hackintosh, it's asking what software is good on a low powered mac.

nope, by putting OSX on non Appley hardware it's a break on the EULA of the software, as such to discuss would be improper for a business forum.

If you had a macbook air ;) Feel free to discuss that ;)
