Hello all,
Aria away still so you get me again :D
True or false:
PC came back for repair... When we opened it, it was full of black grease. The fans were not turning and you could barely recognise the components. Turned out that it was used for running a take-away and was sat next to the deep fat fryers.

i have seen the gunk that comes out the vents on fast food joints.
Not sure why a PC, even in a takeaway, would be right next to deep fat fryers, so false!

I've seen some nasty things in my time... dust bunnies the size of actual bunnies, smokers PC's that are covered in a thick slime.
A PC doesn't have to be next to a deep fat fryer to end up like that, simply in the same room will suffice.
True. I have seen as bad from a smokers house.

many times ive fixed computers that have been in a room of smokers and theres lots of black sticky tar built up on the fans

True! ...I've seen a few nightmares meself - machines with an inch of fluff inside and they wonder why it invariably shuts down due to overheating. Gave all the fans a good clean and hovered out the PC and it was good as new. Also once serviced a machine in a marble factory and the dust had really got inside the machine - white marble dust everywhere, lol.

Sorry - only just got back from Wales... I did think about using Tapatalk to post the winner, but quickly dismissed the idea as insane at 70mph :D
It was true! and a truly hideous sight it was... imagine tar mixed with dog hair and then spray that inside your PC... it was so completely coated we binned it and started form scratch.

Question I want to know the answer to, is which bit of it actually needed repairing... in other words, how much of it was still working under those conditions ? :D
