Broadcom have just released their drivers as open source under the GPL so they will now be included as default in many distro's.
So the well know wireless and networking issues with linux are hopefully in the past.
These drivers should be included in Ubuntu 11.04 OpenSUSE 11.4, Fedora 15 and others.
Some other unrelated info:
However Novell may no longer continue with SUSE and Mandriva seem to be in a lot of trouble.
Also Oracle have abandoned RED HAT as the kernel for Unbreakable Linux and come up with their own kernel.
Thats...really cool :D
I see the linux section is booming these days.....
Mandriva has already been forked from what i beleive so it doesn't matter if they dissapear.
As for Novell's SUSE...well OpenSUSE is around anyway.

Its just up till now broadcom's linux drivers have been closed source and buggy but now they have released the source code and so networking issues should be over.
What next, the wheel? :p

Doesn't look as good as my desktop with compiz fusion.:D
I've seen some videos of that, it looks dire :P.
Compiz > aero.
Sometimes, when I minimise my windows, they burst into flames.
That's right, I said BURST INTO FLAMES.

*Installs Compiz*
I don't get the point of all these fancy window effects.
Hey cool look at me i can make me screen wobble, set alite and then dissapear...MAGIC.
Heh i guess i'm just a bit funny when it comes to compiz since it messed with a lot of games.
Good to know that wireless should be better now, although i've not really had a problem in recent years even with 3G modems Ubuntu was painless.
