But:

Skyfire for iPhone has been received with unbelievable enthusiasm. Despite our best attempts and predictions, the demand far exceeds our initial projections. The user experience was performing well for the first few hours, but as the surge continued, the peak load on our servers and bandwidth caused the video experience to degrade.
Thus we are effectively ‘sold out’ and will temporarily not accept new purchases from the App Store. We are working really hard to increase capacity and will be accepting new purchases from the App Store as soon as we can support it.
We are very grateful for the demand. Within 5 hours, Skyfire for iPhone became the top grossing app, the third highest paid app overall and the top application in the Utilities category. Wow!
Please bear with us as we bring our capacity in line with the incredible demand – stay tuned.
Thanks, Robert.

Booo :(

I see it for Droid too. It's a browser. Why do we want this?

Iphones (and other Apple products) don't support Flash movies. Apple wont allow Adobe products to be installed on their products. Skyfire encodes and compresses the flash movies present on a website thus enabling you to view them (at reduced bandwidth usage).

TL;DR ? Flash on your iProduct ;)

As for Android, I believe it is a far superior product as opposed to the built in Flash player

tryed it on my iphone, not reliable and videos often end sooner than it should (probably due to buffering).

once their server backend matures, should be a viable solution to streaming you-know-what without a computer. :D

Have they updated/changed thier EULA at all? - I popped Skyfire on my Kaiser a long time back but took it off again when one of my Twitter mates told me to look at what I'd agreed to.
As I recall it had some fairly worrying precepts.

pass, can't say I bothered reading them

Totally - I always skim past and hit agree...but the Skyfire one I read was properly Big Brother. It provoked quite a strong negative reaction so I 'spect it's been changed anyway.

Edit: It would appear not...By using Skyfire you're giving them ALL your online activity to record, store and use at their discretion including passwords and browsing history.

they wouldn't get much from my browsing history, I only use Skyfire for Flash based websites, I use opera for everything else ;)

Skyfire is also a benefit for those who have strict data allowances as it reduces the bandwidth. Used to use it for Flash sites on Android and WinMo before they supported it, surprised it has taken them so long to get onto the Apple bandwagon.

I hated and have removed it. It was really slow and jerky scrolling and very slow loading pages.

If you have only just tried it I would wait a while and give it another go. I used to find it performed pretty well when needed, they have clearly oversold with the iPhone release and it will take a little while to claw the performance back.

I installed it three days ago and it's been annoying me all that time. I only removed it today.

I got it the second it came out. It was really slow... since then they have improved it a bit. Not what it should be. It's a big letdown. But I still have it as you never know when you'll need it :) hopefully when adobe brings out their flash to html5 converter, things will get better

Sounds good (playing Flash on me iPhone... Finally!) but not sure if I want to jump into it yet until I know its sorted the performance issues out. I can live without flash for a wee bit longer.

Indeed for a matter of hours, then it was pulled, as my earlier posts.

It's only been available in the US site until today when it's been re-available for UK users ;)
