View Full Version : extreme gaming bundle
i received my extreme gaming bundle on friday however when it was conected all up the motherboard appears to not work, the lights go on as do the fans but i cant get it to start up. it is built correctly and has been tested with other components such as new ram, hdd and graphics card but none have worked.
I can't call customer care as i work late and they go home before i do so can we arrange help over this forum or by email
Have you got both of the 12v connectors plugged in? (From the PSU to the motherboard)
There should be two cables connecting the motherboard and PSU, one 20 pin and one 4 or 8 pin connector.
Sorry if this sounds like a daft question, however we have had a few people post here recently who have overlooked this, and have only connected the 20-pin connector. This would result in the symptoms you describe.
Funny but i thought i had done something silly like that at first but even after giving it to a local computer expert it still refused to start.
Thanks all the same i would prefer this to have been a small mistake on my part during the build rather than something not working.
Have you checked things like making sure it isnt shorting out on the motherboard tray etc..?
Do you get any beep codes or anything?
Another suggestion would be to clear CMOS and reseat components.
sorry to derail, but local computer expert in that tense just reminded me of this (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2791380657531071711)
How is Beth :chuckle:
What power supply are you using? That bundle needs a bit of juice, perhaps more than yours can give. As bundles are overclocked and fully tested before dispatch it's going to be very rare if it has been shipped "dead".
I didnt get any beep codes, it appears not to be shorting out on the board and we have tryed clearing the CMOS. as for power supply i got the FSP Everest 700w Gaming Psu 80+ on recomendation of the sales team.
one thing that may help in finding the problem is that there was problems overclocking the core to 4GHz and the CPU I have is the 3rd one they tryed, the ram is the 2nd and the motherboard is the 2nd as well. I know Aria tests parts before shipping and thats why I am hesitent to just fill out a return foram incase there something I missed.
