You should be able to use it buy it may be running at a lower frequency.

you got latest bios?

Yes you can Peter, all it means is the pc will have those speeds selectable so you can overclock a bit and know you memory will be fine upto ddr900. Assuming when you overclock the fsb you memory gets overclocked too.

I don't know, it's a new build, i was told it would kill my mobo if i put it in, so i have it in but not booted

So Paul, you say i can just put it in and turn it on, and it will work just not at it's true speed or ?

it should be fine i have some 900 ram running in my machine that only supports 800. Unfortunately my mobo cannot supply the correct voltage to run it at 900.

If you can't run at the speed you want, playing around with the timings can compensate for the Frequency, try to get a frequency which you can also have nice timings too, otherwise there is not much point in overclocking.

So i am good to go finally :)

I was wondering because it says it supports 800 and 1066, but not 900

Thanks for the help

well my manual for MY mobo said that if the incorrect speed of ram was used it would damage the mobo and ram.

Nope i am afraid they are more than likely scaremongering. Put memory in thats "too fast" and it will be ran underspeed as mentioned before, put "too slow" memory in and worst case it wont boot, though i have never heard of this happening as even though a motherboard is rated at 667/800/1066 or whatever it will most likely still run slower memory. Only too much voltage will kill memory.

Thanks Mac, so i should be good to go, will try after this flatpack is finished
