I'm guessing (as this is an internet forum based around computers and gaming) that a few of us here have read and are fans of Max Brook's zombie books "World War Z" and "The Zombie Survival Guide", but how many are anxiously waiting for the movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0816711/) to drop?

All the right ingredients are there; the director of Quantum Of Solace and Monsters Ball, the writer of The Kingdom and Lions For Lambs, Brad Pitt as the star and Max himself having a hands on roll and saying stuff like "I want this to be the Lord Of The Rings of zombie movies" makes me giddy with excitement.:weeee

Zombies are the new Vampires! but I'm not complaining, this sounds promising :)

The release is just so far away from now, that I don't want to think about, in case I build it up too much in my mind and end up disappointed when the movie comes out. but I'm looking forward to it all the same.

I've been banging on about this epic event for ages.... My current fear is that the new Walking Dead TV series (Airing tonight - Woot!) will be so popular that by the time WWZ comes out people might be a little tired of animated corpses.

Won't stop me being there on opening night tho!

If it's even 25% as good as the book - It's gonna be awesome!

Walking Dead TV series I'm looking forward to this on FX - it has one of the highest IMDB ratings since Lost (season 1)

WWZ is going to be great, looking forward to it but it seems such a long way off :(

It does seem a long way off, but at the same time the last 2-3 years have FLOWN by so I know this time next year (when it's only a few months away, hopefully) i'll be like "holy carp, we were talking about this a year ago already?!".

It was the same with Dragon Age, way back in 08 when I first heard it was being made and saw the first pieces of artwork I was thinking to myself "just try and forget about it, the wait will break you down", now what feels like only a year later it's been released, i've racked up over 150 hours and i've completed it twice. :S

Yep it is (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_phenomenon) indeed... Might be mixing it up with some crazy planetary alignment thing that's s'possed to be happening earlier in the year.

I will definitely check this out (Zombies are my fav) but I don't think you are really selling it with:

the director of Quantum Of Solace - CRAP
the writer of The Kingdom - MEDIOCRE

But still I could just be being pessimistic. :)
