Hey.

Which heatsink and fan combo for a Q6600 would you recommend to keep it cooler during overclocking ? No water cooling suggestions please :P

Bit of a sweeping statement, for the money it is good but its not "the best"

I have an AC7 Pro on my E6750, very nice for the price in my opinion

Sort yourself out with 'ArctiClean 1+2' to clean the surfaces and some 'Arctic Silver 5 (http://http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Fans%2C+Heatsinks%2C+Coolers/Accessories/Arctic+Silver+V+Compound?productId=9573)' thermal compound to get a few more degrees of chillyness. For under £5 for the Arctic Silver its worth it!

Aria dont have ArctiClean which is a shame as its really great for cleaning off old thermal goop. You will need to source it elsewhere.

I read it is too acidic or something and it eats away at the metal making it un smooth

IF anything it would make the very bumpy surfaces smoother, thats my opinion as it would attack the raised parts. It does no damage in my opinion.

Best job get to Maplins and buy some Rubbing Alcohol comes in a spray made by Servisol.

Lasts a lifetime and has many uses

ps. lasts a lifetime claim not true when itchy trigger finger method is deployed and used to clean kitchen work surface on a nightly basis

Ill just go with this one. It can be placed with the FAN facing any one of the 4 directions right? Dont want it just blowing it at my graphics card.
